Blue-tiful is a CA Nonprofit Corporation focused on teaching young Black Girls how to maintain and style their natural hair all while strengthening confidence and identity through a series of community based programs and Camps. Blue-tiful creates a community where girls get to come together , gain skills, and apply. Girls will not only leave a Blue-tiful Camp with knowledge, but tools and products to help their hair journey along the way.
NOMINATE A CHILD
Blue-til is a Nonprofit Corporation targeting young girls between the ages of 8 all the way to 18. We understand a lot of our super power and confidence as young ladies comes from our crown, and if we don’t know how to care for it, it can affect how we show up as individuals. BEGINNERS CLASS
Age Group 8 - 13
Blue-tiful’s Beginner Camp is for those who have little to no experience with maintaining and styling their hair. We will start with the basics; detangling, parting, and prepping for a simple style. Every camp is strictly hands on, as we believe the best way to learn is by doing it yourself. Girls will leave with a simple style done by a Blue-tiful Staff Member (with the girls help). Girls will also leave with hair supplies of their own to take home and put to use!
INTERMEDIATE CLASS
Age Group 8 - 13
Blue-tiful’s Intermediate Camp we will dive into the process of properly washing , conditioning, and moisturizing our hair. Girls will also learn how to properly blow dry on low to medium heat. Girls will leave with a simple style that they will achieve on their own (under the supervision of a Blue-tiful Staff Member). Lastly, they will leave with hair supplies and products of their own to take home and put to use!
BEGINNERS CLASS
Age Group 13 - 18
Blue-tiful’s Beginner Camp is for those who have little to no experience with maintaining and styling their hair. We will start with the basics; detangling and parting. Then, we will move on to more challenging styling options that the girls will have to do on their own (under the supervision of Blue-tiful Staff Member). Every Camp is strictly hands on, as we believe the best way to learn is by doing it yourself. Because this class is catered to older teens we will add a challenge to the technique and learning process. Girls will also leave with hair supplies of their own to take home and put to use!
INTERMEDIATE CLASS
Age Group 14 - 18
Blue-tiful’s Intermediate Camp is for those who are familiar with the basics of maintaining their hair and want to take it up a notch. In this Camp we will dive into the process of properly washing , conditioning, and moisturizing our hair. Understanding our hair porosity and the products that work best for our hair type sets us up for success as well as a healthy hair journey. Girls will leave with a more complex hair style that they will achieve on their own (under the supervision of a Blue-tiful Staff Member). Girls will leave with hair supplies and products of their own to take home and put to use!
ADVANCED CLASS
Age Group 13 - 18
Blue-tiful’s Advanced Camp will be distinctively curated for the group of teens taking the Camp The goal is for each teen to be able to detangle, wash, and style completely on their own. Blue-tiful’s Goal is to equip these kids with skills they will utilize and lean on as they go on their journey in life . Upon completion of the advanced Blue-tiful Camp members will receive a certificate of completion.
